IGNOU is involved in Vocational Training Programmes to BPL youths in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chattisgarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Orissa, Punjab, Karnataka, Kerala, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Uttrakhand, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal.

Under this programme the University?visualize to provide vocational training in various?areas such as security skills, mechanical & electrical skills, information technology, textile, tailoring, accounting and horticulture etc. to the youth in different States of the country to?improve their employability.?

IGNOU has sanctioned Rs.14.95 crore, till now, for the vocational training in security guard skills.
