Birth Anniverssary of Late Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi and Silver Jubilee celebrations of establishment of the IGNOU, the School of Journalism & New Media Studies (SOJNMS) is organizing a two-day National Seminar on “Challenges and Opportunities of Media Education in India” on the 20-21th November 2009,?in collaboration with UNESCO.

??????????????? The Seminar is supported by many National and International Agencies such as the Commonwealth Educational Media Centre for Asia (CEMCA), UNESCO etc. promoting Media literacy Education globally.

???????????????? The discussions shall be over four main categories like – Status of Media Education in India today, Need for Horizontal and Vertical expansion?of?the Horizons of the discipline, A Semantic approach to Media Education, The Challenge and Opportunities Ahead and a few sub categories.
